The World Bank has partnered with Government of Sindh under Strengthen Social Protection Service Delivery System in Sindh (SSPDS) to enhance accessibility and utilization of Mother and Child Health Services. The Main objective of MCSP is to create demand for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Healthcare (MNCH) and promote behavioral change to increase uptake of the MNCH services focusing on the first 1,000 days of life through the provision of Conditional Cash Transfers (CCTs) in the selected 15 districts, of which 14 are affected by the floods, based on Multidimensional Poverty Index.
PPHI Sindh plays a pivotal role as a key implementation partner in the Mother & Child Support Program (MCSP) within the Strengthening Social Protection Delivery System in Sindh (SSPDS) project. Through a formal agreement, PPHI Sindh has committed to delivering essential health services across an extensive network of 772 health facilities spanning 15 intervention districts. This concerted effort aims to extend crucial support to an impressive target of 1.3 million beneficiaries, contributing significantly to the improvement of healthcare in the region.
SSPA is actively engaged in discussions to forge a strategic partnership with the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). The primary objective of this collaboration is to secure access to precise data concerning MCSP beneficiaries. The potential benefits of this partnership are substantial, as it promises to streamline the enrollment and verification procedures for eligible beneficiaries at the healthcare facility level. Such an initiative will significantly enhance transparency throughout the selection process, case processing, and payment verification, ultimately ensuring a more accountable and efficient system.
In an effort to enhance efficiency and reduce the need for duplicative beneficiary data validation, SSPA is in active communication with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to establish a collaborative data-sharing arrangement. We anticipate that this partnership will prove highly advantageous to SSPA, as a provincial social support institution, by tapping into the well-established social support mechanisms of a respected institution like BISP.
